Outlook saves your Send and Receive customizations in a file with the extension *.SRS. In Outlook 2003 and older, go to Tools, E-mail accounts, View or Change existing accounts. In Outlook 007, you'll check for a default account in Tools, Account Settings, Email. In Outlook 2010, go to File, Account Settings, Email. This may happen when you use a preconfigured script provided by the mail server administrator to set up your account. Symptoms include being able to reply but not send new mail. Is the mail server online? Outlook's status bar may say 'Trying to Connect' if the mail server is down. Is Outlook online? The online status is in the Status bar. Double click on the account and click More Settings, then select the Advanced tab. Many email providers use port 587 for SMTP.
Verify the port number is correct on the More Settings, Advanced tab. Do not enable SPA unless your mail server requires it. If you aren't sure, enabling authentication before sending usually doesn't cause problems, but you should verify the proper settings with your email provider. New messages cause no problems, just replies. Some replies go, some don't, but there's no consistency to it. Oddly enough, this is an intermittent problem. When I get a message and try to reply, it sits in the Outbox indefinitely.
In addition, I'm sometimes unable to respond/reply to email as well. fewer steps) than either of these that will correct my problem. I downloaded both apps to correct this problem, but to no avail. My Outlook 2003 started with the "sending 1 of 2" about three weeks ago, and has now increased to "sending 1 of 11". Unfortunately, I'm getting this message with both Outlook Spy AND MDBVU32. I'm getting the exact same error message: IMsgStore::AbortSubmit() returned MAPI_E_UNABLE_TO_ABORT.
